Dear Mr. Hakim,
I have just finished an action-thriller, suspenseful page-turner book by James Patterson called Maximum Ride School’s Out---Forever. This book is the second in the Maximum Ride series. I’m already reading the third. James Patterson is good at writing suspenseful books that hook you in the first five pages and keep you wanting to read more. His writing is filled with sudden action that comes out of nowhere and takes you on a ride into an awesome new world. I really enjoyed reading the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan. They were the first series I really enjoyed reading on my own. That series is over. It has been hard for me to get hooked into another series that has the style I like. James Patterson came along and hooked me with another fun series with action and fantasy.
This book is about a group of kids that have wings, are always on the run, and trying to find their parents. They are trying to run away from erasers, winged, half wolf, half human creatures. The erasers work for the white coats, who want the kids back at Death Valley to do awful experiments on them at a place called “the School” (figures…). Along with being able to fly, some of them have special abilities like mind reading, super speed, or breathing underwater. They are all trying to find their parents and survive. This is not the life that someone would want. During the story they run into many attacks by the erasers. They find a FBI agent who takes them in as her kids, takes care of them, and has them go to school. When they start to go to school they can’t wait. They have a chance where they can have friends and actually do things a normal kid would do. Things get a bit crazy when Iggy and the Gasman start setting off some explosives. Read this passage from the book and see for yourself how the kids just want to be normal and live safely with their family and friends.
Here’s the deal---for anybody new on this trip. There are six of us: Angel, who’s six; Gasman, age eight; Iggy, who’s fourteen, and blind; Nudge, eleven; Fang and me (Max), we’re fourteen too. We escaped from the lab where we were raised, were given wings and other assorted powers. They want us back---badly. But we’re not going back. Ever.
I shifted Total to my other arm, glad he didn’t weight more than twenty pounds. He roused slightly, then draped himself across my arm and went back to sleep, the wind whistling through his black fur. Did I want a dog? No. Did I need a dog? Also no. We were six kids running for our lives, not knowing where our next meal was coming from. Could we afford to feed a dog? Wait for it---no.
In this passage you can see how James Patterson is able to keep the reader hooked in the story. It’s like he’s talking to you personally and you’re not just reading the book. He uses pauses like “They want us back---badly” and short sentences like “Also no.” or “Ever.” to keep you in suspense as you follow the character’s feelings and thoughts. He even puts a hyphen in the title (School’s Out---Forever) to pause and get you hyped up about what’s “forever.”
This book made me think how lucky I am being able to live a normal life. I have a family and friends. I do normal things like jump on a trampoline, play video games, and kick a soccer ball. How cool it would be to have a special ability, but how terrible not being able to enjoy life? Imagine being chased by killers who want you, not for the person you really are, but for your ability. You’re all scared and can’t do normal everyday things and go out in public. The kids in this story are constantly trying to be safe and happy, but have to keep running away. They don’t give up. They keep on trying because they want to survive and have an ordinary life.
I liked this book a lot. It was one of those that you hated to put down and go away. One time I was so eager about what was going to happen that I read from 9:50 pm to 11:47pm! It is that good of a book to me because it is action packed and suspenseful. There’s even a part when the main character is substituted with an evil clone that tricks the rest of the kids into a trap set up by the erasers. Another part is suspenseful when they have to rush one of them to the hospital and have surgery done. I can’t tell you anymore because you need to get the book and read it yourself and so you can enjoy James Patterson’s story Maximum Ride School’s Out---Forever.
At first I thought that it would take me weeks to finish this book. My mom kept on nagging me how she should put a hold on the next book in the series at the library. Of course I said no because, like I said, I thought it would take me weeks to finish it. But of course the book was just too darn good to put down. James Patterson has me hooked. I enjoy his easy to read, like he’s talking to me style. I enjoy his books about fantasy and action. I’m reading the 3rd book now, and I had my mom put a hold on the next couple of books so I won’t have to wait to find out what happens next. You too, need to read Maximum Ride School’s Out---Forever. You will enjoy this book and series. All you need to read is the first five pages and you’re hooked too---Forever!

Check this out for laughs

My first 3 hyperlinks
This post is going to be about my first 3 hyperlinks, my first one is going to be on a military website called Strategy Page. Finding,and clicking, getting to this website actually took me a long time. The site has a whole bunch of photos,videos,posts,and books. My next hyperlink that I like a lot is Google because I think that it is a great search engine. I have used it so much for school work,cool pictures, and just some other things that I use a lot during my free time. My next hyperlink is a place that I go in my free time and nothing else, the hyperlink is a place called yahoo mail. Checking, and typing e-mails is also what I like to do my free time besides reading a book series called Maximum Ride by James Patterson. I really like having my own e-mail because then I won't have to use my mom's all the time. When people look at who its from they probably think its hard to believe its from me. I can see other people thinking that right now.

The first post
We are doing this blog thing in English class. I have to say it was a pain just to get in to it. Because first I needed to make an email at Yahoo.com. That took a long time because it always showed that I needed to make a password that was at least 8 letters for it to be accepted. But when I got that done it was easy, or so I thought. When I typed in all of the stuff that would make my blog, I then pressed "make blog", it said to verify my identity. Now that was a real pain because Mr.Hakim said that we had to avoid that and I agree with him because asking for an identity is kind of wrong. But then we got that out of the way and now here I am talking about my next paragraph.
I think that this is cool that we can also post videos from you tube. If I were to post something it would be about soccer, WW2, and funny stuff like white collar Nerf wars. I think that the green color shows that I really like my birth color, and blue because I think that it is a really nice and soothing cool.
The book that I am reading is called The Firm. It's about a wonderful strait A+ student from Hartford named Mitch Y McDeer. And so far everything is going great for him. He has passed a really hard test. He is getting paid $87,000 first year plus bonuses and $200 an hour. But soon when a FBI agent tells Mitch that this firm is dangerous he becomes suspicious, and the firm. I think that this book is a really hard 400 page book. So far I am on the 100s and it has been great.
